Vertical punch

So what is the difference between a vertical punch and a traditional punch? I've already explained in brief what a traditional punch is (plus the pictures). The vertical punch is employed by many martial arts. For example wing chun or ving chun, Ishhin ryu karate, xhi xhi chuan kung fu ..... The difference is in the execution .... You don't turn your first along its path .... You don straighten your whole hand ..... you bend you elbow even at the point of impact ...You ended up hittting a target with the first two knuckles.... very less energy is used..... you don't pull your other hand back to your rib .... I'll show you a picture later .... Now when I'm sparring I normally would combine this with western boxing styles .....

The vertical fist should hit the target with the bottom three knuckles.

Ok Paul. Are yoyo talking about wing Chun punches. I'm really interested in learning this art. However, there is wing chun club in my locality. So all this while I've learnt by reading books and watching videos from the U tube. I think it is quite practical -- good for short distance fight.
